Snapshots

D&B Onboard allows you to capture date/time stamped reports and store these within your Onboard workspace for future reference. These captured reports are known as Snapshots. Snapshots can be taken of single reports or multiple reports.

Snapshots can be stored and reviewed on the following types of report (subject to contract):

  • Compliance Report
  • Ownership Structure
  • Global Family Tree
  • Company Documents (Lists available documents)
  • Company Document Images (Actual document images)
  • Identification Reports
  • RDC Organization Results
  • RDC Organization Report (RDC style report)
  • Onboard RDC Organization Report (Onboard style report)

Creating Snapshots

To create a single snapshot, click the Report Actions icon from within a report, then click Add to Snapshots. Any future searches for that business will return any snapshots taken, in addition to D&B results and Google results. The number of associated snapshots will be highlighted in brackets on the Snapshots results tab. You can then review the saved snapshot or order an updated report by clicking on the links on the right-hand side.

To create multiple snapshots simultaneously, click on the Target Company tab (the first tab), then click the Exit button. You will be prompted to select which of the reports on screen you wish to save as snapshots.

You can embed a note or reference within the snapshot by clicking Save Note & Report.

Reviewing Previous Snapshots

Snapshots saved within your D&B Onboard system can be reviewed from the Snapshots tab, located in between the Search and Investigations tabs. Click on the tab to view the results. You can then choose whether to look at the saved snapshot report/s or to view a live report (Compliance, Ownership Structure, International ID) containing the latest D&B information. Choose to view D&B Compliance Report Snapshots and/or Ownership Structure Snapshots by using the radio buttons on screen.

In addition to viewing snapshots from the tab at the top of the screen, snapshots can also be viewed when performing a search for a business or a person. Any snapshots taken previously of that business will be highlighted on a snapshots tab alongside D&B Results, Global Search Results and Google Search Results. The number of corresponding snapshots will be shown in brackets. If a large number of snapshots are found then a circular loading icon may be displayed while these are being generated.

You can filter by Snapshot type, Snapshot name, date saved, and reference used at time of saving or by the user ID that saved the snapshot. By default, two weeks worth of snapshots are returned. Change the results by altering the date range.

Grouping and Packaging Snapshots

Related Snapshots can be grouped together and saved in a Zip file. After filtering the snapshots, select the boxes next to any of the Snapshots that you wish to group together. Then click Add Snapshots to Package.

Exporting Snapshots

D&B Onboard allows you to export a list of Snapshots into Excel format. Click on Export Entire List to download your list of Snapshots according to how you have filtered them on screen.

Your Excel file will show Company Name, D-U-N-S Number, Registration Number (if applicable), Address, User ID saved by, Snapshot Type, and Reference attached to the Snapshot at the time of saving.
