Group Profile

NOTE: All functions under Administration require Administrator privileges.

The Group Profile is used to set up a specific group of users. Settings can be defined for:

  • Create New/ Modify Group Profiles
  • Define personal preferences and settings
  • Specify Security & Levels of Authority
  • Grant Functional Permissions
  • Order D&B information online
  • Access to various screens
  • Access to account maintenance privileges

NOTE: Users assigned to a Group will automatically inherit the Group’s authority/settings. The settings for an individual User’s profile can be modified by going to the User Profile and making the changes.

Creating a New Group ID

To Create a New ID:

  1. Click the Admin link in the Top Navigation Bar.
  2. Click Group Profile on the left navigation panel.
  3. Select + New to display the Group Profile setup screen.
  4. Enter a Group Name in the Group field.
  5. Enter information into the appropriate fields.
  6. Click Save once complete.

Editing an ID

To edit an existing Group Profile:

  1. Highlight a Group on the Group Profiles list.
  2. Double-click or click the edit icon
  3. Complete your relevant fields.
  4. Click Save once complete.

Deleting and ID

To delete a Group Profile:

  1. Highlight a Group on the Group Profiles list.
  2. Select the delete icon

General Group Permissions & Settings

eRAM gives administrators the ability to control the tasks / functions that a user can have access to. The controls that can be modified include:

  • Accounts – create/delete account, modify account number and currency
  • Confidence Match – set the confidence level for matches and control trade up from branch to headquarters when ordering packets/reports
  • Export – ability to export data and edit export templates
  • Customer Data – update accounts receivable, edit financial statements, create/modify/delete bank and trade references
  • Note To Do’s – delete and modify Notes and To Dos
  • Documents – ability to add new documents and detach existing documents
  • Landing Page – control where a user lands
  • Small Business Risk Scoring Solution – control right to access and view of principal data (SBRAS) and small business data (SBRPS)
  • NOTE: Customer must have their own relationship with providers and meet compliance regulations.

  • Credit Analysis – ability to make credit decisions, set credit limits and set credit limit authority amount
  • Scoring – ability to recalculate scores, view score details, score multiple accounts (all accounts or those in a filter)
  • Password Expiry – enable password expiry for group

To alter a Group's permissions:

  1. Navigate to the GENERAL section of the Group's profile.
  2. Click the appropriate unmarked boxes to grant or remove privileges.
  3. Click Save once complete.

Control Product Order Permissions

eRAM gives administrators the ability to control the products that can be ordered and the frequency with which they can be ordered.

The controls that can be modified include:

  • Order from profile – selecting this gives permission to order online D&B information
  • Investigations – selecting this gives permission to order an investigation.
  • Product List and Restriction - control the products a user has the ability to order.
  • NOTE: Products that can be ordered must be listed in the Restrict User To box. Move the selected product from the Product List box to the Restrict User To box by highlighting it and clicking the Add button or by double clicking the selected product.

  • Timeliness Factor – control the number of days in which an eRAM packet is considered up to date. By entering a value in the D&B Timeliness Factor field, when a new eRAM packet is ordered on the account and one has been previously ordered within the number of days specified, the User will be alerted. This gives the User the choice to reorder or use the existing data.

To alter the User’s product order permissions:

  1. Navigate to the PRODUCT/SERVICES section of the Group’s profile
  2. Click the appropriate unmarked boxes to grant or remove privileges.
  3. Move the products from the PRODUCT LIST to RESTRICT USER TO box depending on what you wish to grant the user access to.
  4. Click Save once complete.

Permissions for Views and Screens

eRAM gives administrators the ability to control the views/pages that a user has the authority to access.

The controls that can be modified include:

  • Views - control access to screens that can be viewed.
  • NOTE: Move the selected page from the eRAM Views box to the Restrict User To box by highlighting it and clicking the Add button or by double clicking the selected product.

  • Division – control the divisions that a user can access (default access is for all divisions).
  • NOTE: Move the selected division from the eRAM Views box to the Restrict User To box by highlighting it and clicking the Add button or by double clicking on the selected product.

Permissions for User Consumer Bureau

eRAM gives administrators the ability to control whether users in a group can access a specific Consumer bureau. These settings are necessary to:

  • Restrict a user/group to a specific Consumer bureau
  • Set up the appropriate account & security details

To set up consumer bureau settings:

  1. Check the Active box for the appropriate Bureau Name.
  2. Highlight the selected Bureau Name and double click to open.
  3. Enter the required contract information provided by the bureau in the specified format.
  4. NOTE: Users must contact the bureau directly for questions regarding the contract information.

  5. Click Save once complete.

Password Rule Configuration

The Password Rule Configuration screen allows an administrator to define password standards for the users within the organization. The Password Rule Configuration page can define the criterion to meet the organization’s level of security. Once these rules are configured, passwords will be validated against these rules for all users.

Policies recommended for Sarbanes-Oxley controls and security:

  • Each individual user should have their own User ID and password.
  • Allocation of all new passwords should follow a consistent process.
  • There should be a formal registration and de-registration procedure for granting/removing access to all user ID’s and passwords.

To implement password rules:

  1. Click on Admin in the Top Navigation Bar.
  2. Select Password Rule Configuration in the Left Navigation Bar.
  3. Select the appropriate password options:
    • Alpha Numeric – require users to have letters and numbers in the passwords
    • Too Many Occurrences – require users to NOT have more than 4 occurrences of the same character
    • Password Length – define the minimum number of characters required in a password
    • Password Expiry – define the length of time the password will remain active and the number of days prior that a notification should be sent.
    • Upper and Lower Case Letters – require users to have both and upper and lower case letters in their password
    • Unique Password – require users to have a different username and password
    • Password History – require users to not repeat the past two passwords
  4. Click Save once complete.
