Pausing and Resuming Batches
You can pause and resume a batch process while D&B Integration Manager is running it. After you select a Batch Workflow, and click Run, the list of jobs display. The default setting for pausing and resuming a batch is disabled. To enable this function, next to a batch job listing, select the check box. After you enable this function, click Pause to temporarily stop a currently running batch job.
If the status displays as:
- True — The job is paused during the execution state.
- False — The job is executed without any pause.
The following processing parameters apply:
When the job is in Pause state, you can start or run any other batch jobs. To resume the paused job, select the corresponding check box, and click Resume. |
After you select one or more paused batch jobs, and click Resume, a progress bar displays until D&B Integration ManagerD&B Integration Manager resumes the selected batch jobs. |
The batch job resumes from the stable state where it was temporarily suspended, and the status changes to the Run state. |
When the job is in Pause state, D&B Integration Manager starts processing the records of the next available job that is waiting. |
If the system reaches the maximum number of concurrent jobs, the Resume jobs change to the Waiting state. |
When the system executes custom scripts, or is exporting matched or unmatched records to a file or table, D&B Integration Manager is unable to change the job to the Pause state . |
The Pause and Resume function works in the same way for single pass and multi-pass batch jobs and is not applicable to Remote Batch jobs. |
You can stop or delete a paused batch job. |
When the job goes to the Pause state, the time stamp between the start and end time of the batch jobs might vary. This depends on the time that the user resumed the paused job. The time that D&B Integration Manager takes to complete the batch job is always longer than the batch job that is completed without Pause. Start time — indicates when the system has started processing the job, End time — indicates when the system has completed processing the job. |
